Tata Motors commercial vehicles today announced the launch of the new Intra V40 pickup truck. The latest addition to the company’s small commercial vehicle range comes with a CNG-petrol bi-fuel powertrain. It is aimed at customers seeking higher payload capacity, improved operating efficiency and lower running costs. The Intra V40 offers a payload capacity of 1,525kg and a 2,960mm (9.7ft) load body, making it suitable for a wide range of cargo transportation applications. The new Intra V40 is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine that produces 58bhp and 106Nm of torque. The pickup is equipped with a 110-litre CNG tank, intended to support a longer operating range. It has an 800 km range on bi-fuel (CNG + petrol). The bi-fuel setup allows users to switch between CNG and petrol. Tata Motors says that the vehicle is designed to help operators maximise earnings while ensuring uninterrupted operations across different routes and business requirements. In terms of features, it gets electric power steering, front disc brakes, Air conditioning (VX trim), Music system (VX trim), halogen headlamps and also gets Fleet Edge telematics with features such as vehicle monitoring, predictive maintenance alerts and operational insights aimed at improving uptime and fleet productivity. The Intra V40 is backed by Tata Motors’ Sampoorna Seva 2.0 support programme, which offers lifecycle assistance to customers. The Intra V40 is built on Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle platform and features a walk-through cabin designed to improve driver convenience. The company has also equipped the pickup with front disc brakes, while a hydroformed chassis is claimed to enhance structural strength, stability and overall durability. With the launch of the Intra V40, Tata Motors now offers one of the widest bi-fuel commercial vehicle line-ups in the country. The range includes the Ace Pro Bi-Fuel, Ace CNG 2.0, Intra V20 Gold and the newly introduced Intra V40, covering multiple payload categories.Commenting on the launch, Mr. Pinaki Haldar, Vice President & Business Head – SCVPU, Tata Motors Ltd., said, “The shift towards alternate fuels in last-mile cargo transport is accelerating, driven by the need for lower operating costs and greater flexibility.
